HSB4MI: Gr. 12 Challenge and Change In Society

 | This course examines the theories and methodologies used in anthropology, psychology, and sociology. Students will look at some of the reasons for human behaviour such as aggressive behaviour, competitive behaviour, cult membership. The students will demonstrate an understanding of how social change is the result of how we deal with various social issues such as conformity, alienation; the impact of returning soldiers on individuals, families, and communities; they will assess the psychological importance of the baby boom to Generations "X", "Y", and "Z". The students will also deal with the factors society has on youth culture such as music, television, travel, gender identity as well as attempting to understand the ethical issues related to the blood supply system, organ donation, cloning and as well as the impact of stereotyping and hate crimes on society. |
